Located within a short 5 minute walk from Bugis MRT, Fortune Centre has reinvented itself as a new food enclave in Singapore- nesting several new eateries that have sprouted recently, along with existing popular vegetarian eateries.
We walked around and saw many eateries with a queue forming for lunch. As we have not had Taiwan food in a while and we felt the food looks quite appetising so we decided to settle for dinner at Taiwan Street Food Paradise at level 4 in Fortune Centre.

We ordered two mains – Garlic Lu Rou Fan (Spicy) and Braised Pork Rib Soup Noodles. You can get a complimentary drink if you follow them on their Instagram page and like their post, we did that and got a milk tea and papaya milk drink. The milk tea tasted ok but the papaya milk drink did not suit our taste.

We got our first main in a few minutes, the Garlic Lu Rou Fan (Spicy). On first sight, the rice was covered with pork belly slices, a ramen egg with garlic chili over the braised pork. The garlic chili was the highlight of the dish but there wasn’t any hint of braised sauce in our rice. Not sure if that was the intention but we would prefer the garlic chili to complement the lu rou fan instead of overpowering it completely.

The Braised Pork Rib Soup Noodles came with large chunks of radish and carrots and four pork ribs. The broth was quite clean and sweet tasting, the pork ribs and root vegetables were fork tender. Every ingredient came together well for this noodle dish.
