Phoenix Garden: Elevated Chinese Dining At The Heart of Marine Parade

Phoenix Garden: Elevated Chinese Dining At The Heart of Marine Parade

Parkway Parade has seen several tenants exit and new entrants replacing them in the 40-year old shopping mall. The shuffle-up is likely due to the increase in rent at lease expiry as reported in the news recently.

From classic Cantonese staples to elevated contemporary dishes, Phoenix Garden delivers both nostalgia and flair in equal measure. Whether you’re here for a dim sum brunch or a hearty family dinner, this spot offers satisfying flavours with that comforting touch of tradition.

Phoenix Garden is one of the new entrants, taking over the space vacated by outgoing PUTIEN (Fujian cuisine). We got a reservation for lunch on a Sunday after the children’s classes.

Upon arriving, we noticed that Phoenix Garden had a bright and inviting ambiance, with a modern yet traditional touch in its décor. The restaurant was already bustling with diners, a promising sign of its popularity despite being a recent addition to Parkway Parade’s dining scene.

As we settled in, the menu offered an array of classic Cantonese dishes, from dim sum to roast meats and seafood specialties. We decided to go with their dim sum as we saw it was what most diners were having.

We got the chicken feet with black beans, traditional honey pork buns, shanghai xiao long bao, fresh prawn chee cheong fun, teochew style chai po and eggs chee cheong fun, mini abalone pork siew mai dumplings, pan seared radish cake with sakura ebi, pan fried pork stickers with big white cabbage and pork and phoenix garden goldfish dumplings.

Ambience & Service

Phoenix Garden is deck out with modern and elegant interiors, a subtle nod to traditional Chinese décor. The space feels upscale but still family-friendly. Tables are well spaced, making it great for larger groups or special occasions.

Service was warm, attentive, and impressively prompt with staff checking in often to ensure that our drinks were topped up

The food was decent, nothing outstanding but it took a while to be served, which could suggest that certain items were made to order.

Overall with higher expectations from consumers today, Phoenix Garden needs to strengthen its current offerings in order to be a mainstay in Parkway Parade’s F&B lineup.
