Introduction to Suju Masayuki Takashimaya
Located at 391A Orchard Road, #02-13 Ngee Ann City, Singapore 238873, Suju Masayuki Takashimaya is a gem for lovers of traditional Japanese cuisine. Established in 2005 in Karuizawa, Nagano, Japan, this renowned restaurant has expanded to six locations in Japan and two in Singapore, including its cozy outlet at Mandarin Gallery. Situated next to the Takashimaya taxi stand, Suju Masayuki offers an authentic taste of Japan with its focus on high-quality ingredients, such as miso, shoyu and buckwheat soba from Hokkaido. This review explores why Suju Masayuki is a must-visit for Japanese food enthusiasts in Singapore.
Ambiance and Setting
Suju Masayuki Takashimaya boasts a serene and elegant ambiance, providing a tranquil escape from the bustling Orchard Road. The restaurant’s minimalist Japanese decor, with wooden accents and soft lighting, creates a cozy yet refined atmosphere. Window seats offer views of the greenery across the road, enhancing the dining experience. While the space is slightly less intimate than its Mandarin Gallery counterpart, the calm setting makes it ideal for a relaxing meal, especially during off-peak hours.
Signature Soba Noodles in Hot Broth with Assorted Tempura
The Soba Noodles were cooked properly al dente with a nice bite. The vegetable tempura had a light coating of batter, dip it in the broth and have it with the noodles together. This is our way of enjoying the soba noodles with tempura.

Bara-Chirashi
This was simply Suju sushi rice topped with assorted dice cuts sashimi with tamago and cucumber. Nothing fancy just decent sashimi. We just wished the cuts of sashimi could be chunkier for better taste and texture of the seafood.
