Oyster Boy specializes in two main variations of the oyster cake:
- Original Oyster Cake ($3): A delightful blend of fresh Korean oysters, prawns, and well-seasoned minced pork, encased in a thin, crispy batter. The addition of silverbait on top adds an extra crunch and umami kick.
- Prawn Cake ($3): For those who prefer a non-oyster option, this version replaces oysters with additional prawns, delivering a juicy and flavorful bite.
Each cake is meticulously prepared to order, ensuring freshness and quality in every bite. The piping hot oyster cake didn’t taste oily and was chocked filled with ingredients. You could get seasoned minced meat, prawns, oyster and Chinese parsley in almost every bite.
It is understood that the owner created his own recipe based on his favourite oyster cake at Jalan Berseh Food Centre.

Taste and Texture
The oyster cake boasts a light, non-greasy crust that gives way to a moist and flavourful filling. The generous portion of minced meat was complemented by the briny oysters and sweet prawns. The inclusion of Chinese parsley adds a refreshing note, balancing the richness of the filling though it can be overwhelming for those who dislike the aromatic herb. They do offer chilli to go along with the oyster cake but I found it better to savour it on its own without extra condiments.

Oyster Boy offers a nostalgic yet refined take on the traditional Fuzhou oyster cake. With its commitment to quality ingredients and meticulous preparation, it is a must-visit for anyone seeking a good Fuzhou oyster cake.
