There’s a special kind of comfort that comes from walking into a bakery where everything is made from scratch, with love and intention — and Lean & Rich Bakery delivers that with pride. In the quiet UE Square, this cozy, humble spot has quietly built a loyal following of carb lovers who appreciate quality, creativity, and consistency.

The space itself is minimal and small inside, but there is more seating outside. It is perfect for a quick grab-and-go as we saw many customers did that.

We went around lunch time and the breads were all sold out. The staff pointed out their brunch menu and we settled for the Capotana and Burrata at $21.

The food arrived fairly quickly; the capotana was a combination of eggplant, tomato, onion, celery and pine nuts with the burrata sitting on top of it. Capotana is a Sicilian dish that comprises of chopped egg plants / aubergines and other mix of vegetables seasoned with olive oil, tomato sauce, olives and capers. Lean & Rich Bakery’s version did not have olives and capers, which might have explained why it was on the bland side. A richer sauce would probably be more apt to go with the sourdough bread.
The highlight of the dish was the sourdough bread, which was crunchy, tasty and we wished there were more!
The flat white coffee was disappointing, it was more milky than what we are used to.
We would probably return to try out their baked goods the next time!
