In the heart of Seoul, Jayeondo Salt Bread (자연도 소금빵) has emerged as a must-visit destination for bread enthusiasts. With locations in the trendy Seongsu-dong district, this bakery has garnered attention for its delectable salt bread, drawing both locals and tourists alike. We had to check out if the hype around this salt bun is the real thing.
Located in Seoul’s “Brooklyn,” the Seongsu branch caters to the modern crowd. Unlike its Ikseon-dong counterpart, this outlet is strictly for takeout. Customers place orders via a kiosk, receive a voucher, and collect their bread at a designated pickup point. This efficient system ensures a swift and organised experience.
We got there just when it was about to open and we quickly placed our orders and received our buns in a few minutes.

The Salt Bread Sensation
Jayeondo’s signature offering is its salt bread, a harmonious blend of buttery richness and subtle saltiness. Crafted using premium Canadian wheat, French butter, and sea salt from France, each loaf boasts a crispy exterior and a soft, fluffy interior. The meticulous preparation ensures a consistent and delightful taste in every bite.

You have to get it in a set of 4 for about 12,000 won. There are 2 queues; you should go to the one on the right to order and pay at the kiosk and thereafter queue on the left to receive your fresh bakes.
A good piece of bread and coffee is the perfect way to start your mornings.
