Tucked away in the historic Jongno district, just steps from Anguk Station, Artist Bakery has become a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists seeking artisanal baked delights. Renowned for its extensive selection of salt butter breads, this bakery offers a unique twist on traditional flavours, making it a standout in Seoul’s vibrant café scene. We were lucky to chance upon this popular bakery as we noticed the crowd outside the cafe.

A Symphony of Salt Butter Breads
Artist Bakery’s menu boasts over 20 variations of salt butter bread, catering to a wide range of palates. From the classic plain salt bread to inventive options like potato cheese, cinnamon salt bread, and lemon cream salt bread, there’s something to intrigue every bread enthusiast. Each loaf is freshly baked, ensuring a delightful crunch on the outside and a soft, buttery interior.

Beyond Bread: Baguettes and More
While salt butter breads are the star, the bakery also offers an array of baguettes and baguette sandwiches. Notable mentions include the strawberry butter baguette sandwich and the gorgonzola honey baguette sandwich, both combining rich flavours with the bakery’s signature crusty bread.
Warm Soups and Beverages
Complement your bread selection with hearty soups like the tomato rosé soup or the truffle mushroom soup. For beverages, the bakery serves a variety of options, including classic coffees, homemade chai latte, and blueberry smoothie, catering to both traditional and adventurous tastes.

What We Ordered
We ordered the blueberry salt bread, the milk cream salt bread and the truffle mushroom soup. The blueberry salt bread had a crispy exterior and was soft and chewy on the inside with an ample amount of blueberries. The milk cream salt bread was soft on the exterior and filled with light decadent milk cream.
The truffle mushroom soup was fragrant with minced mushroom bits in every spoonful.
