Green Heart Garden is a recommended restaurant to visit when you are in Phuket. Tucked away at the top of the hill, Green Heart Garden is easy to locate using Waze Maps. Just be careful not to miss the slip road that leads all the way up the hill. It is an open-air garden themed restaurant with swings and lots of shade from the lush greenery. They have their own herb garden and they probably grow most of their greens on site. Once in a while, you hear the calls from the roaming geese and chickens from across the road.
A welcoming place with friendly servers, you will be ushered in quickly to an available table. They promptly offered us a table with panoramic ocean views as soon as it became available. The place was filled with tourists and locals alike when we arrived for a late lunch and the menu features popular Thai food.
A good plate of stir fried minced pork with holy basil and the addition of the mushrooms helps make the dish healthier. You can request for your preference of spice level so you don’t get overwhelmed. Only thing that can be better is if there was more minced meat to go with the heaping serving of rice.
A must order for every meal is a spicy Thai salad to get your daily dose of fruits and vegetables. This som tum was well balanced in flavours albeit less spicy than usual.
We make it a point to order Tom Yum Kung at every meal yet we can’t get enough of it. The soup had the usual kick of sour and spicy notes, the aromatic lemongrass and herbs and a generous portion of prawns submerged within.
This may look like a plate of plain fried rice to the naked eye. Don’t be fooled by the photo as every grain of rice was seasoned and it wasn’t too oily. The crispy anchovies gave the extra umami boost with every mouthful of rice.
Green Heart Garden is a place that you should come for a meal during the day before sunset. Beautiful views, tranquil atmosphere, good food and superb service are the qualities that define this restaurant.
