Spicy Noodle Shop (銷魂麵舖) Review – Dry Noodles And Soup in Taoyuan Shin Kong Cinema

There were not many food options at the Premium Outlet Mall due to ongoing renovations and we decided to try our luck at the Shin Kong Cinema Mall. The Spicy Noodles Shop had recently opened a new branch in Singapore but reviews were mixed. Located inside Taoyuan’s Shin Kong Cinema Mall, 大師兄銷魂麵舖 (Master Spicy Noodle Shop) is a spicy, modern take on traditional Taiwanese dry noodles with a touch of mala in it.

1. Spicy Mala Beef Noodles Set

The noodles are slighly thicker than ramen noodles, bouncy, and perfectly chewy, tossed in a house-made Sichuan-style mala chili oil that clings to every strand. The mala spice in it is not spicy but provided some mild heat. We were told to eat the noodles and enjoy the soup separately. The spicy beef soup is the famous Taiwan beef noodle soup style with chili oil tossed into it. The thin shabu slices of beef contained equal parts of fat and meat. The cold ramen egg was perfectly done and we went with the duck blood curds for the side.

2. Clear Broth Beef Noodles

The broth is light and clear and is a clean, soul-warming soup with a naturally sweet, savoury base. The meat is soft yet retains a satisfying bite, with distinct layers of fat and meat. We chose to have the tofu beancurd for this set and it was surprisingly good. The beancurd had layers to it and soaked up the broth well.

We can see why this place is popular in Taiwan. The noodles are mildly spicy, making them suitable for a wider audience, while the sauce clings beautifully to the noodles, delivering a chewy, flavourful bite every time.
