Nestled within Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru, RuSim Thai Kitchen offers a cozy retreat for those seeking Thai cuisine. The restaurant is spacious and the interior is bright and inviting, which sets the stage for a delightful dining experience.
During a recent visit, we explored several dishes. The Tom Yum Soup arrived piping hot, brimming with prawns, tender squid, and earthy mushrooms. Its rich, tangy broth delivered a good balance of spice and sourness, leaving a lingering warmth that was both invigorating and comforting.
The Thai Style Steamed Squid was bright and tangy with slices of lime, shredded cabbage, mushrooms and 2 heaps of chilli placed at both ends for you to mix in if you prefer it to be more spicy.
Next up was the Thai Seafood Glass Noodle Salad with springy noodles that soak up the zesty lime-based dressing beautifully, ensuring each bite bursts with flavour. The dish was complemented by the crunch of sliced onions, cherry tomatoes, toasted peanuts and green onions.
The Thai Shrimp and Glass Noodles featured big, tender, juicy shrimps nestled atop a bed of silky, well-seasoned glass noodles infused with aromatic spices. The noodles were cooked nicely, absorbing the rich blend of soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, and white pepper, creating a savoury yet slightly sweet taste. The addition of fresh cilantro, ginger slices and crispy garlic enhances the dish’s fragrance, while the shrimp are plump and flavourful, adding a natural sweetness that pairs well with the seasoned noodles.
RuSim Thai Kitchen’s Pineapple Fried Rice is a delightful combination of sweet, savoury, and nutty flavours. Each bite delivers a satisfying mix of textures, with fluffy grains of rice, raisins, pork floss, a sunny-side up fried egg and crunchy cashews adding a layer of complexity.
In summary, Rusim Thai Kitchen delivered a taste of Thailand’s home cooked food in an inviting atmosphere.
