If you love Korean fried chicken but wish it were just a little healthier, Oven Maru Chicken in Incheon might be your new favourite stop. Known for its oven-baked chicken that’s lighter, crispier, and far less oily than traditional fried versions, Oven Maru has built a loyal following across Korea and the Incheon outlet delivers exactly what fans rave about.

We reached Seoul almost close to midnight and were hungry as the inflight meals were pretty disappointing. We had to stay overnight in Incheon before moving to Seoul the next day and fortunately we walked past Oven Maru. We ordered their most popular option, which is the original oven baked chicken which we were told would be ready in 20 minutes.

The Chicken: Crispy, Light, Surprisingly Addictive
Oven Maru’s signature is its oven-baked technique, which gives the chicken a crisp skin without the heavy oiliness of deep-fried versions. The chicken skin is thin and crisp, almost crackling-like and the chicken is tender, juicy and well marinated. Even the breast meat was moist and tender, which is impressive considering baking can sometimes dry out chicken. We love it and the kids love it too. This box was not enough to share among 2 adults and 2 children.

Final Verdict: Is Oven Maru Chicken Worth Visiting?
This was really a pure coincidence as we didn’t do any research beforehand but this was a real good find. If you want delicious Korean chicken without the greasiness, Oven Maru is a great choice – flavourful, satisfying, and a little better for your conscience. The Incheon outlet in particular serves crispy, well-seasoned chicken with friendly service and clean dining.
